"Reason is always a kind of brute force; those who appeal to the head rather than the heart, however pallid and polite, are necessarily men of violence. We speak of 'touching' a man's heart, but we can do nothing to his head but hit it." --G.K. Chesterton

Sanctimonious crap'?

If it's true that Justin Trudeau called David Suzuki's views about climate change "sanctimonious crap," then I wonder how Mr. Trudeau would describe the these comments:

- "We are completely misunderstanding the fundamental relationship we have with this planet that sustains us. Our relationship with the natural world needs to fundamentally inform, shape and guide our lifestyles, from the simplest element to the biggest." (Victoria Times Colonist, Oct. 19, 2006)
- "All of our advances in science and everything have led us to this point, and now we're going to have to do something that no civilization has ever been able to do, which is to have certain behaviours, to reach the top, and then suddenly change direction, change our habits, and change our ways away from the very things that brought us here." (National Post, Nov. 8, 2006)
To me, these quotes represent the same sort of environmental apocaplytic rhetoric as anything Dr. Suzuki has ever uttered.
Yet, they were mouthed by Mr. Trudeau himself when he was on the speaking circuit, buffing his image in preparation for his political career.
Something to think about.

  2. But there IS a difference, Suzuki uttered sanctimonious crap, while Trudeau spoke "bafflegab", a type of speech in which the speaker utters vague multisyllabic words that in combination have no meaning.

  3. Climate change is a political tool used to extract evermore money from our pockets to enrich our political class and their minions ... and little else. The climate has been changing since the creation of the solar system and we have adapted to all of it so far ... why stop now.

    1. But all those combustion engines here on earth are emitting soo much Carbon we even have global warming on Mars, The Moon, and even Mercury... If David and Justin say it's so it must be our fault

  4. So I presume Suzuki will be on stage with Neil Young condemning the oilsands. I understand that Young's entourage of semi trailers is now running on liquified "unicorn farts" and Neil Young will be coming to Vancouver on his bicyle rather than his usual mode of flying his private jet or first class commercial.

    2. David Suzuki even wears a colostomy bag connected to his bum so he can harvest the methane that comes out of his bum so not to damage the atmosphere... just wish he'd attatch it to the real problem area at the other end about 2 1/2 feet higher up unless he's laying down...

"ofay cat says... Climate change is a political tool used to extract evermore money from our pockets to enrich our political class and their minions"

aka a tax on stupidity that seems to find it's way into the pockets of men like millionaires al gore and david suzuki... a man with multiple homes and despite early involvement with zpg... multiple families.
